I am now working at an office. I am the Human Resource Assistant for Training and Development in a university here in Iloilo City. Last semester, I taught part time in this same university. But came the middle of last semester and I was told to come to the HR office. The HR officer told me she wanted me to become part of her office. The HR assistant was resigning effective the last day of the first semester. The assistant wants to go full time as a student. She was enrolled in BSN but she took only two subjects last time because of her office job. She has to leave the office. That’s why I was invited to replace her. Today is my first day in this job.
This is first time I’m ever working in an office. This is the second time I’ve taken a formal job. I’m a grown up now. I laugh at myself at the thought of it.
Years back, when I was still in college, I remember telling myself that I am never taking an office job. I also remember my reasons back then: office job is a “tiring” job. I easily get tired sitting on a chair typing some grammatical-errors ridden documents all morning, all afternoon. So I’m rather surprised looking at myself sitting in this chair.
Good luck to me.
